A Proposal, not formatted in proper bee-dance.

Happy Sunday. It’s the US Constitution’s birthday today, a very sacred public event for us Constitutionalists. Which actually turns out to be a piss-poor name for this party, but that’s par for the course and a story for another day. Also, i’m not your Chief Executive yet, so i can wax on about things sacred all i want.

Hey buddy, i’ll run Kali Puja as an animated gif on my REAL homepage if i want. It’s a free country. Sez so in the constitution.

The Constitution, Unplugged

Whoa, that’s right, it doesn’t say anything in there about freedom ringing and such. We already covered that. It all still comes back to you and me and the air between us, huh?

Hive Mind Is Neither

To fully understand the dissapointment some of us have in the human condition and the human inability to do what is, sorry to be pedantic but, praeterobviously the omnibenificent in any and every aspect of life one has to understand first the a priori fact that humans are no different than insects.

Really. Yes, i know you love to think of yourselves as God’s little Jesus-pieces, but our anthrocentric science buckles and collapses when faced with certain facts. One is bee dance. Here all aspects of science fail, and the universal language of math rubs salt in the wound with typical ellucidation. The individual worker bee uses a complex multidimentional algorithm to describe to the other individuals a given fact, eg where a cache of nectar is, using a dance. There is no “hive mind”, there’s only workers who work together and communicate openly with each other toward the greater good.

Do they vote? No. They also don’t have holy wars or 7-11s. Flip side, they have traffic jams, wars with other species (especially those deadly little ninja ants) and absolutely no porn. Worth looking at. Twice.

So why can’t we clearly see what we need to do? Answer: we can, we just don’t want to do it.

Fine. I’ll draft it for us, ‘k?

Draft the first of Citizen j’s Proposed Amendment to the
Constitution of the United States of America

The selection of President and Vice-President shall be decided by popular vote, each citizen of the United States, it’s territories and the District of Columbia having one (1) vote upon reaching the age of eighteen (18).

The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice. And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice-President shall act as President, as in the case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President.

The person having the greatest number of votes as Vice-President, shall be the Vice-President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed, and if no person have a majority, then from the two highest numbers on the list, the Senate shall choose the Vice-President; a quorum for the purpose shall consist of two-thirds of the whole number of Senators, and a majority of the whole number shall be necessary to a choice. But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Submitted this the 17th day of September, Two Thousand and Six.

I swiped the last two paragraphs from the 12th amendment. I have my reasons.

Once again, i’m asking for a party quorum on this. Surprise me.

219 years and you STILL don’t have the vote, sucker.
