Note: The data in the tables above exclude oil imports into the U.S. territories.

As one can clearly see, the bulk of our oil is imported from our neighbors in the Americas. So let’s all STFU about Arab oil cartels, or the reliance we have on Mid Eastern oil, or WTFE idiots believe about oil imports and wars.

  1. Yeah. You know I think the first Gulf War was waged because we wanted to unload all our bombs. Why not? The bomb business is booming. Shit everytime you drop one bomb you must replace it 3-fold. Due to the threat of retaliation.

Drop one. Build 3. Good business.

And the current Iraq War? Solely an excuse to rebuild the entire Army.

    The first Gul

  2. Ya know, i remember them even saying that on the newz during Gulf 1 – that they were dropping bombs and popping shit off even after Saddam’s troops stood down, just to use up their allocations for the fiscal year. I worked for the city at the time, so it made sense to me. Gotta use your budget or it gets yanked the next year.

  3. Yo where in the City are you at? Think I am moving to Red Hook….

    See you around maybe.

  4. I’m keeping it all-too-real in th’ InterBai, just offa 15th on the Seattle side of the Ballard Bridge. Where’s Red Hook?

  5. Oop — wrong town. Thought you said you lived in the City. And probably because you’re a West Coaster you think I mean San Francisco. But San Francisco is only the City west of Denver.

    Red Hook is in Brooklyn.

  6. AHHHH! Yeah, i was wondering ’bout that part…my Veep lives in the City, though, maybe that ‘s the connection. She lived in The City (NY) during the late ’80’s – early ’90’s…she just got back from a trip there, actually. Said it was pretty sleepy these days, now that Guilianni has had all of the homeless secretly killed. ‘Course, she’s a San Franciscan now, and thus finds everything a tad unmoving. That place will wreck a head.

Glad some other people are beginning to see the light and recognize the importance of Canada w/r/t the US’ oil thirst.

Mr. Obama et al should think twice about “renegotiating” trade agreements – he may find himself with less leverage than he thinks…

  8. I guess most folks just believe the Arab Oil hype, when it’s so easy to look it up. If we coould just get BP to stop siphoning the Alaskan reserve, we’d both be fine. Dunno. I stopped driving a couple years ago, so it’s just funny to me now.
